C day

Happy Friday Fourth Graders,

I am so impressed with the way you have adjusted to fourth grade.  Great work so far!

Please order your lunch and wash your hands.  Next, please take out a new post it note and tell me one event that happened in your reading last night.  You should use a complete sentence with proper punctuation and capitalization.

Once you finish your reading work, I'd like you to answer the question on the easel.

You'll have to work well in order to get this all done before morning movers!

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

B day

Good Morning,

I am glad to see you again today.  After you have hung up your backpack, please read this message, order your lunch and wash your hands.  If you have any notes, please put them in my mailbox on the lunchbox shelf.  Your planner should be on your desk, opened to last night's homework.

Once you have gotten yourself organized, I need to you take a post it note out of your desk.  On the post it note, write about the character that you read about last night.  Be as detailed as possible.  This should be done before announcements begin.

You will meet Mr. Napierella today.  He is our new Art teacher.  I think you will like him.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

p.s.  Later today, I hope to have you take this Back to School Survey.

A day

Hello 4th Graders,

I am so excited to meet you!  Please hang your backpack on a hook and head straight to the sink to wash your hands.  Then take a walk around our room.  Your very first job is to read the poems on each desk.  Once you have found a poem that you really like, that will be where you will sit. Sit down and wait for further information.

We have Phys. Ed. right after announcements this morning so it will be a fast start.  It is important that you follow the directions!

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Welcome, Fourth Graders

August 1, 2018

Dear (Almost) Fourth Grader,

Hello!  I am so excited to meet you this year.  I have been working in our classroom so we can get right to the work of learning on September 5th.  Below you will find some pictures of our classroom. I hope they give you an idea of what fourth grade will be like.

Your first homework assignment is to view these pictures and then, with your parent's permission, leave a comment on this post.  You can write a question you have about fourth grade.  You can also leave a sentence describing what you are looking forward to.  You should only use your first name whenever you leave a comment on the internet.  Please complete this assignment by September 4, 2018.

This is the Foot Power pad that powers one of the laptops in our classroom.  You will use this to get some physical exercise while you are also giving your brain a workout.

This is our class library.  You will read every day.  I challenge all of my students to earn a place on the Reading Wall of Fame.  I will tell you how to do this during the first week of school.

Here you see our Science and Social Studies center.  We will learn about many topics related to Science, History and Geography.  You will get study guides and have tests in each unit.  We spend a lot of time learning how to study for these tests.  We also do a lot of hands-on work as we are learning.

This is one of the groups in our room.  You will sit with 4-5 other students to do your work.  You will be responsible for keeping your desk and the black bookshelf neat and organized.

This is my work space.  I am in charge of keeping this space neat and organized.

Thank you for visiting this blog.  I will see you at school on September 5th!  Be sure to leave a comment or question below in order to complete your first homework assignment.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey
