D day

Happy Monday,

I hope your weekend was terrific!  It was great to see the Bills win, wasn't it?!  Please order your lunch and wash your hands. Next, you should be sure to update your reading status.  Remember to use details and correct punctuation.

When your status is complete, please take a minute to check out your desk.  Remember that is should be organized according to Friday's demonstration.  Use this picture to make sure you are on track.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

C day

Happy Friday Fourth Graders,

I am looking forward to another activity filled day with you.  Please order your lunch and wash your hands, if you haven't already!  Your first job today is to update your reading status.  Use your book and your brain to tell me what page you are on and what part you are at.  Remember to do work you are proud of.

Later today, we will have Science.  During Science today, we will use some tools for measurement.  What tools for measurement
have you used before?

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

2nd day of school

Good morning Students,

I am so glad you came back today!  Please wash your hands and order your lunch if you haven't already.  Once that is done, you should put your take home folder and planner in your desk.  You should keep your decorated white bag in your desk also.

Please take some time to read the blue brochure today.  I know we were rushed yesterday.  You should be at a volume level 2.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Hello Fourth Graders,

I am so glad to have you here in Room B3!  We are going to learn a lot together this year.  By now, your backpack should be hanging on a hook and you should have washed your hands.  Please order your lunch by placing the stick with your name on it under the lunch choice you would like.

You should find your desk by walking around and reading poems that are scattered about.  When you find a poem that you like, that is your seat for now.  While you wait for the rest of your classmates, please read the blue brochure on your desk.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Welcome Fourth Grader!

August 1, 2019

Dear (Almost) Fourth Grader,

Hello!  I am so excited to meet you this year.  I have been working in our classroom so we can get right to the work of learning on September 4th.  Below you will find some pictures of our classroom. I hope they give you an idea of what fourth grade will be like.

Your first homework assignment is to view these pictures and then, with your parent's permission, leave a comment on this post.  You can write a question you have about fourth grade.  You can also leave a sentence describing what you are looking forward to.  You should only use your first name whenever you leave a comment on the internet.  Please complete this assignment by September 3, 2019.

This is the Foot Power pad that powers one of the laptops in our classroom.  You will use this to get some physical exercise while you are also giving your brain a workout.

This is our class library.  You will read every day.  I challenge all of my students to earn a place on the Reading Wall of Fame.  I will tell you how to do this during the first week of school.

Here you see our Science and Social Studies center.  We will learn about many topics related to Science, History and Geography.  You will get study guides and have tests in each unit.  We spend a lot of time learning how to study for these tests.  We also do a lot of hands-on work as we are learning.

This is one of the groups in our room.  You will sit with 4-5 other students to do your work.  You will be responsible for keeping your desk and the black bookshelf neat and organized.

This is my work space.  I am in charge of keeping this space neat and organized.

Thank you for visiting this blog.  I will see you at school on September 4th!  Be sure to leave a comment or question below in order to complete your first homework assignment.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey
