After you complete your reading status, please take out your poem from yesterday.  I'd like you to read through it a few times, focusing on your fluency.  Once you have read it about 3 times, you can illustrate the space around the poem.  Make the pictures match the context of the poem!

Welcome Tech-Savy Kids,

Please come on in and get your day started by ordering your lunch and washing your hands.  Next, you should read the poem that is on your desk.  We will read and discuss this poem all week.  Once you have read that, please take a minute to update your list of books read and your reading status.  This is also a good time to shop for a book if you need a new one.

We will have Technology today with Mrs. Orrange.  I look forward to working with you and her to use technology more often.

I enjoyed meeting your families last night.  Your parents loved your videos!  Please order your lunch and wash your hands.  Next, you should update your reading status.  Do this quickly as I have a fun job for you to do next.

Please get your laptop out and log in.  Next, use the camera function to take a picture of something in the classroom.  This thing should represent your learning from this week.  Try to take a unique picture, something no one else will think of.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking time to come to tonight’s Open House.  I look forward to discussing our classroom routines and expectations. 

Please visit the different tables in the room to sign up for various tasks.  The parent/teacher conference form is on the round table.  Please sign up for a time to discuss your child’s progress.  The rectangle table has Volunteer information on it.  Please consider being a volunteer in some capacity.  Your children are not too old to have you involved at school!  Please take a minute to watch the video your child made for you.  You can also write your child a note on the paper on his/her desk.
