Dear Quick Learners,
Hello! I'm happy to see you! Please order your lunch, wash your hands and read this message! We will have a busy, fast day today!
Once you have read this message, please pull out your homework and any forms you have. Leave those on your desk; I will come pick them up. If you have a note about dismissal today, you should hand that to me! Your first job is to finish the timed test from yesterday. I put this on your desk. Once that is done, please work in your 4th grade packet.
Madison will do the announcements today. Mrs. Harvey will share. Three of you will have a chance to share on Monday.
Today is a solemn day for our country. Many people take time today to remember a tragedy that happened 14 years ago. Please join me in remembering people who work hard to keep us safe!
Today is the 3rd day of school.
Our word observation is ordinary.
Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Dear Students,
Good morning. I am so glad you came back to school today. Today, we will get more familiar with each other and our class routines. Please begin your morning routine now. Remember, this includes, ordering your lunch, washing your hands and reading this message!
Once you have read the message, please organize your self by putting your math page from last night on your desk and putting your other supplies away. While you wait for me to check your homework, please work quietly on your 4th grade packet. I expect you to work quietly as you get ready for the day.
Jeremy will do the announcements this morning. I will share a book with you a morning meeting.

Welcome New Students,
I am thrilled that you are here today! I can't wait to get to know you better and begin learning with you!
After you have read this letter, you should walk around the room, reading the poem on each desk. When you find a poem you like, that will be your desk. Put your backpack at your desk and then do the following:
1. Wash your hands.
2. Order your lunch by moving your stick into the correct category.
3. Give me any notes you have from home.
(Go ahead- do those things now!)
Lastly, you do the morning work I assign. Today's morning work is to read the letter that is on your desk. Please do not put anything in your desk yet. We might be changing desk assignments based on your size.
Grace C. will do the announcements this morning.

Welcome to 4th Grade Picture Post
August 27, 2015
Dear (Almost) Fourth Grader,
Hello! I am so excited to meet you next week. I have been working in our classroom so we can get right to the work of learning on September 9th. Below you will find some pictures of our classroom. I hope they give you an idea of what fourth grade will be like.
Your first homework assignment is to view these pictures and then, with your parent's permission, leave a comment on this post. You can write a question you have about fourth grade. You can also leave a sentence describing what you are looking forward to. You should only use your first name whenever you leave a comment on the internet. Please complete this assignment by September 9, 2015.

This is the Foot Power pad that powers one of the laptops in our classroom. You will use this to get some physical exercise while you are also giving your brain a workout.
This is our class library. You will read every day. I challenge all of my students to earn a place on the Reading Wall of Fame. I will tell you how to do this during the first week of school.
This is one of the groups in our room. You will sit with 4-5 other students to do your work. You will be responsible for keeping your desk and the black bookshelf neat and organized.
