Hello Greek Mythology Learners,

Are you as interested in the Greek myths as I am?  I am enjoying the stories I have read so far.  Today, I will share a story with you about a King who learned not to be greedy.

After you have done your three jobs and added to the easel, please pick up your ipad.  I would like you to finish watching the Greek God movie on Brain Pop. Once you feel like an expert, take the quiz.  Once you get 80% or higher, please write something you learned on a post it note and add it to the "New Learning" section on the door.  Finally, please squeeze in some extra IXL practice when you are done.

I am happy to see you today.  Thanks for coming to school!  Please accomplish your three jobs right away.  After that, please update your reading status.  I am curious to see what you have been reading lately.  Once your status is updated, please work on the Valentine Butterfly project.  Reading the directions will be important for this job.  Finally, please complete PC p. 273 while you wait for morning meeting.

I was impressed with your 100th day brainstormig yesterday.  While it's true that we are more than half way through our time together, I have high hopes for learning more than ever in the next "half" of our year!

Happy 100th Day!

Hello Long-time Students,

Today is our 100th day together!  It amazes me how fast time flies!  It is fun to think back on all we have accomplished in the last 100 days.  I hope you enjoy reminiscing about your recent learning today!

Please get started on your three main jobs.  While you are up, be sure to get our latest poem. Read through the poem and put it in your poetry folder.  Another job I need you to accomplish is to set up your spelling pre-test paper.  Next, please visit one of the pieces of chart paper and add to it.  This will be a fun way to chronicle our learning of the past 100 days.

Lastly, please take out your iPad and enter today's weather word.  I am curious to find out  where we are in the standings!

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Fraction Fun for everyone!

Hello Fraction Folks,

Now that we are more into our fraction unit, has your connotation of fractions changed?  I hope you are feeling more postive about them!  Today, we will continue to learn about fractions, including equivalent fractions.

Please complete your normal three jobs.  Next, please carefully pull out activity page 5 and 6 from the back of your math journal.  These are going to be your fraction cards.  You need to cut them out precisely, cutting only on the solid lines.  Once the cards are cut out, please write your initials on each card.  Once that job is done, please vote for today's weather word.

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey
