I hope you are safe at home enjoying your day off. I am glad to see that Hurricane Sandy spared most of us in Western New York. It is shocking to see the damage that this huge storm inflicted on other parts of our country...my thoughts are with those people still battling the effects of the storm.
If you happen to check in with the blog today, please leave a comment to let us know how you are spending the day off. I am getting caught up on some school work as well as spending some time with my kids! Remember, if you leave a comment, you need to leave your first name as well. Welcome Pumpkin Carvers,
We will indeed carve pumpkins this morning. First though, we have some data to collect. Please wash your hands, order your lunch and read this message. Next, please put away all of your homework supplies. (I will check those later!) You will need a pencil, your learning log and your pumpkin. Using the chart you built yesterday, please estimate each measurement and then accurately measure your pumpkin. It will be interesting to see how our data compares to each other's.
When you are done with your data collecting, please write the words Pumpkin Carving Day at the top of the next page in your learning log. How many words can you make using just those letters?!
