A day

Welcome Weather Watchers,

Today is a special day in many ways!  At 9:30, we will be in the Middle School for Andy Parker's Weather Machine.  Later this afternoon, we will celebrate your fundraising success with a pizza party.  On a more sober note, this is a memorable day in history.  50 years ago, the president, John Kennedy was shot.  You will likely hear a lot about this on tv this weekend.

Despite the planned fun activities, we have work we must do as well.  Please get started by washing your hands, ordering your lunch and reading the message.  Next, please complete PC pages 135-136 with a partner.  I expect to see your theme reader out!   Lastly, please update your reading status and steal a few minutes to read.

We will not have sharing this morning due to our busy schedule.  If I can squeeze in some sharing later, I will!

Kindly,
Mrs. Harvey

Dear Circuit Creators,

You did such a great job yesterday with creating complete circuits.  I am truly impressed with your electrical skills.

_Andre______________, ____Jenna________ and _Brooke_______ will share a book today.  Please read this message, order your lunch and wash your hands quickly.  We will have a fast, yet busy morning.  If you didn't have a chance to build a circuit yesterday, use page 5 in your white science booklet to help you build a circuit with a battery holder and a bulb holder.  Next, add a switch to your circuit.  If you have already succeeded at this task, you should take a look at the book creator app on the iPad.  See if you can figure out how to use this app.

Today, we will cheer Peter on in the Geography Bee.  This is a competition where Peter and other students will answer questions all about maps and geographic locations.  This makes me think of a joke:

What do fish and maps have in common?

Remind me to tell you the punch line at morning meeting- we will be starting that soon!
